Collection: Spirit of Cape Henlopen

Cape Henlopen Light was a victim of a locomoting dune that ultimately consumed the land and led to the final demise of the light during a howling storm on a winter day in 1925. The lighthouse was built in 1767 and guided ships from the Atlantic to the Delaware Bay for over 150 years. Research for the painting used for the Spirit of Cape Henlopen products included archival photographs and drawings.

The image on each of our Spirit of Cape Henlopen products is a reproduction of an original watercolor by Lee M. Buchanan. Coast and Country products are available exclusively on our website. Thanks for visiting with us!
