The Cape Hatteras Clock features the third light to be built at Cape Hatteras in 1935. The familiar black and white spirals, first used in 1873, are a prominent daymark to mariners. The lighthouse was originally built in 1845. Today it is the tallest lighthouse in the USA at 208 feet from the bottom of the foundation to the peak of the roof. It is located on Hatteras Island at Buxton, North Carolina in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Enjoy the beauty and history in this charming clock!
The lighthouse design in the clock is a reproduction of an original watercolor by Lee M. Buchanan. As part of our Heirloom Designer Collection, the Good Old Times At Cape Hatteras Clock features hand-crafted nautical designs between each of the numbers on the clock face. This design is exclusive with Coast and Country!
